- Business Department
The firm's Business Department is composed of Robert A. Mallek, Jr., Richard E. Aune, Joan Marie Smith,
and Vreeland O. Jones. Robert A. Mallek, Jr. is certified as a tax specialist by the California State Bar. The Business
Department emphasizes business transactions, estate planning, corporate and partnership formation, taxation, business
acquisitions and mergers, real estate acquisition and disposition, and employee benefits.
The lawyers in the firm's Business Department handle all aspects of business transactions involving drafting, analyzing and
negotiating agreements and documenting complex business and financial transactions. In addition, the firm's Business Department
is a leader in the area of ERISA pension law.
- Litigation Department
Our Litigation Department is headed by Donald H. Glasrud, and includes Bruce A. Owdom, Thomas W. Isaac, and Peter G. Fashing.
The Litigation Department emphasizes complex business and commercial disputes, creditor bankruptcy and insolvency, escrow
disputes and title insurance/coverage issues, and professional negligence defense for architects, engineers, accountants and attorneys.
The firm's Litigation Department practices at all levels of the California and Federal Courts, as well as the United States
Bankruptcy Courts. Collectively, the attorneys have litigated more than 160 jury trials in both state and federal courts.
